About Thyme at the Table
I’ve been cooking since my mom let me get my hands in the cookie dough! A memorable part of my childhood was family dinner. My mother loved to cook and it was important to her that we all spend time at our dinner table enjoying what she prepared. While that is certainly an ideal, life can often be too busy to make that happen. Fast food and dining out have their place in our lives but pulling personally cooked food out of your fridge or having it served in the comfort of your own home, is an entirely different experience!
My love for food has me reading cookbooks and food blogs, revealing the magic behind dishes from around the world - dreaming about what to cook next. I’ve taken cooking classes in Thailand and sat down in the kitchens of women in India and Kenya to learn their skills.
One thing I’ve learned is that food is important! It brings us together, allows us to share, and nurtures our bodies. I pour my love for cooking and baking into all of the foods I make. It is how I nurture my family and friends. Thyme at the Table is meant to honor that ideal and make it possible in your home. Hiring me as a personal chef gives you and your family the gift of home-cooked food and time around your table.
As a cook the presentation of food is important to me as well, I enjoy using this skill when catering parties, dinners, brunches, and holiday feasts in people’s homes.
I am licensed, insured, and certified in food safety and handling.
"Kristin has been cooking for us once a week as we go through a re-model. Though I am vegan with food sensitivities, she has been able to meet all of our dietary requirements with delicious and healthful food choices. Her meals make me not want the remodel to end! "
